On April 13, 2002 Chad spoke at Youth Pride Day in Washington, DC. It was a great event. Chad presented a rousing speech challenging everyone to be brave and stand up for who you are. Also challenged the officials in Washington to recognize that gay kids deserve to be treated fairly and not risk harassment and worse simply because of who they love.

Chad spent the entire afternoon with fans, talking, signing autographs, just having fun.
