A bird in the hand

This
is a photo from our journey to Wao territory. After arriving
in Quito, we traveled three days into the jungles.
The
final stop before our village was a tiny village called
Nemompade by the Wao. There, I bought a chicken
from a local to present as a gift to our Waorani hosts.
I
also loaded up with supplies that we had trekked in
to help the Wao, hence the tubing around my head and
the always-helpful jungle machete.
