CUTTER TO HOUSTON
1983
Cutter to Houston was a short-lived
television series in 1983.
"The show was based upon a medical clinic in the town on Cutter, Texas 60
miles from Houston. The three doctors were serving the small Texas town's
clinic for very different reasons. Dr. Beth Gilbert was serving an
apprenticeship while Dr. Hal Wexler was busy serving a probation brought
on by charges of writing illegal prescriptions. Jim Metzler played the
young surgeon Dr. Andy Fenton."
Trivia
One of its stars Alec
Baldwin, who played Dr. Hal Wexler in an episode gave mouth-to-mouth
resuscitation to guest star Chad Allen, who recalled this event with great
fondness years later. In the book
When I Knew, Chad says that shooting that scene was the moment
he knew he was gay.
