TEMPORARY HELP
2001
YOUR WEBMASTER FIRST MEETS CHAD
My
friends, David and Michael, and I got to the theater early. My friends had
been there before and knew where to sit to see the actors before the show. So I
saw Chad and introduced myself before the show. He was so friendly (like that is
a surprise). I didn't pester him long and said I would see him after the show.
He sat on the picnic table a while and then went backstage to get ready. As he
was leaving, he made a point of yelling to me to enjoy the show.
Temporary
Help was a great play. Chad plays Vincent Castlenuovo-Tedesco a drifter who
comes to work on a farm where the farmer, Karl Streber (played by Jeffrey Demunn)
and his wife and not so willing co-conspirator, Faye (played by Karen Allen)
supplement the farm's income by hiring drifters getting them to buy cattle with
bad checks and then kill them and claim that they just moved on. Well Vincent
also has a past of killing those who get in his way. Needless to say, these two
forces come to create some true drama. This play is a must see!
After
the show he came out from backstage and was just wonderful! He gave me a big hug
and I introduced my friends to him. He was very friendly and signed a few
autographs for friends of mine. I gave him an autographed copy of my friend
Mark
Roeder's newest novel. He modeled one of the
Chad
Allen Online Store's t-shirts. We talked some. I asked him about the movies.
All is set on Paris, signed the contracts on the prior Friday and Kick [now
called Downtown: A Street Tale] seems to be set as
well.
Chad is going to be really busy the next 6 months to a year.
He will join the cast of Corpus Christi on October 5th. He will also be
doing the two movies and hopefully doing Temporary Help off Broadway next
late Spring or Summer. They are now looking for a theater. However, Chad said he
is working so hard because he never knows what work will be available in the
future. I told him that he would be busy as long as I had anything to do with
it. He said yes that I was a big help!
He only had about 30 minutes between shows to rest and eat
dinner so I didn't keep him long.

A big thank you to Chad for taking time from his busy schedule
for me. He was great! I also want to thank my good friends David Bernstein and
Michael Carlin for hosting me in NYC so I could go see the play and driving me
up to Westport. Thank you to Michael for taking the above photo of Chad and I
and to David for taking the photos below.
I also want to thank Jeff Provost for the great photos of the
play and for all of his help. Thanks also to the staff of the Westport Country
Playhouse for all their hospitality.
